Yes. Bipedortho has ensured that its operation complies with the Code of Ethics of licensed practical nurse of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ).

Furthermore, the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec is of the opinion that Article 37p of the Professional Code allows its members to collect data, including prescription information, in order to input it into the platform.

Article 37p of the Professional Code – A member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec may engage in the following professional activities, in addition to those otherwise permitted by law; participate in the assessment of a person’s state of health and in the carrying out of a care plan, provide nursing and medical care and treatment to maintain or restore health and prevent illness, and provide palliative care.

Since these products fulfill an immediate patient need and are required for the care and treatment being provided, the Ordre also believes that its members adhere to Article 76 of the Code of Ethics of licensed practical nurse by offering this service.

Article 76 of the Code of Ethics of licensed practical nurse - No member may sell, engage or participate for profit in any distribution of medications, equipment or products related to the profession, except where a sale of products or equipment is made in response to an immediate need of the patient and is required for the care and treatment to be provided.
